Every wonder what this stuff is on the locals face??

OK! It's a paste made from the bark of the Murraya (thanaka) and also Limonia acidissima (theethee or wood apple) tree.

The tree must be at least 35 years old before it is considered mature enough to yield good-quality cuttings. Thanaka in its natural state is sold as small logs individually or in bundles

It makes a yellowish-white cosmetic paste that has been used by Thanaka cream has been used by Burmese women for over 2000 years
