Memories of Mattie

Matilda Edna Frazer (nee Taylor)

September 7 1921 - June 12th 2006

Here is a collection of photographs mainly of Mattie and George’s trips to Australia. Their first trip was in the early 1960’s when Jim lived in Sydney .  Their next trip was in 1975 when Jim had the farm outside Melbourne.

After their retirement in 1982 they began to make the long trip every 18 months.  This enabled them to have a great relationship with all of the Aussie Grandchildren: Ainslie, Simon, Jane, Emily and Sarah.

We would go skating for Grandpa’s birthday on the 18th of December and many hours were spent at the beach.

Mattie and George had their own circle of friends in Australia which encompassed their walking group (which turned into an eating group), Mah Jong and the exercise group on the Esplanade.

Mostly they just loved being around the grandchildren.  We were especially lucky to have them here when Emily and Sarah were born.  These were very special times to share.

The photos tell their own story and have been chosen because they show the joy and love that is so much of our life with Mattie and George, Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa.

We would be pleased to add more photographs so please email ones that you would like added to this album dedicated to Mattie.
