Modern streetscape....

The Government "Friendship Stores" are still operating and compete against the larger western stores

This Prada shop is located next door to the Friendship Store

I was asked to leave when trying to take a picture inside this shop!

You occasionally see a sign of the other China on the streets....

A monk gave me this, well actually in exchange for some money to rebuild his temple!

Looks like I'm having a "Safe allone life".... humm

The fine print was also a sign of what was to come NO ENGLISH for the next 10 days...

But my "China to go" PDA phase book worked over time. A must for travelling in the rural areas ahead.
