One of the lovely parts of being a traveller is the occasion is when you get to meet

real locals and experience a snap shot of their life.

In this case, Lakey invited us to a local farm house that makes

Bang Chang and its distilled cousin Ara

This is a warm version of Bang Chang being filtered

Lakely has known this woman for years and

she has supplied him with Ara over that period.

Barley that has been fermented for over a month is filtered using a wicker basket in a bath of warm water

Usually in this form a morning drink.....

Wasn't to keen on this but loved the distilled version known as Ara

It was great to be welcomed into this family and see their life style
