From Homestays, Ecolodges to this very strange new hotel in Ha Giang

"The Phoenix"

Recently opened and aimed at the Asian - Indochina market

So far we are the only westerners currently staying here?

The food is amazing as well as the menu!

Anything you want is here.... Frogs, Tortoises etc

The picture above is why....

The guy in the photograph is Nguyen Van Tu

and he is the IronChef of Vietnam!

Because next to no English is spoken in the Hotel

he offered to help me with breakfast

Then I started talking to him and he explained he was here training new chefs

He also asked "why are you here?"!!!

They are not familiar with westerners yet in the hotel - ha ha

Today we walked for 3 to 4 hours in local villages

Many Viet people love coming to these remote Homestays

Some English spoken if luckly

Absolutely beautiful Tay villages
