Manitoba - Page 1 After the big drive across the top of Lake Superior (and enjoying the Canadian Shield geology) AND a less than average night in Thunder Bay we arrived at the popular tourist town of Kenora (still in Ontario but visited mainly by those living in Manitoba) This area is known as "Lake of the Woods" and the summer cottages capitol of Canada Very pretty area TOO BAD ABOUT THE MOSQUITOES!
The morning after.... Our little campground - Willows Bay, Kenora seemed to spend a small fortune on Fireworks? Seems Canadians now follow their friends to the south for some reason.....
Once you get into Manitoba the prairies starts very soon.......
Beach at Bird Hill Provincial Park (just above Winnipeg) Like most landlocked areas in Canada, any lake is the place to be in the summer! All the campgrounds are full especially with the August long weekend - the biggest of the year.... btw - 26 degrees here and everyone is finding it HOT
Dropping like flies....... But why didn't these people get eaten alive by the MOSQUITOES! Never seen so many......
Waiting for local traffic Once away from the camping and beach areas you rarely see anyone.....
